Our Objectives


  1. Promote the principles and practice of Human Rights in Nigeria as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and in accordance with the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights, and the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
  2. Advance the principles of social and economic justice in Nigeria;
  3. Raise the level of consciousness on human rights, democracy, accountability, transparency and good governance;
  4. Periodically access the impact of public policy on human rights and report on same;
  5. Promote respect for the rule of law, transparency and accountability in governance;
  6. Monitor the formulation and implementation of policies that impact on or are of public interest;
  7. Organize seminars, symposia, conferences on critical issues and trends in socio-political and economic development;
  8. Bridge sectarian, social, economic, and cultural divides in Nigeria;
  9. Advocate for access to public information;
  10. Develop and support innovative programmes for youth and women to enable them to develop self-esteem, and promote mental health, physical fitness and promote social change at community levels; and
  11. Collaborate with other organizations and groups (local or international) working to promote human rights, democracy and good governance in Nigeria and elsewhere.
